Digital Citizenship

Dear Bloggers,

My Name is Sandeep and I created this blog for a class in Valley High School called Digital Communication Tools. The purpose of this blog is to inform readers what digital citizenship is and how to act like good citizens online. Digital Citizenship is the act of using technology in a proper, ethical manner in which no one gets harmed or otherwise; cyber bullied. For the first unit in Digital Tools, we learned how to be good citizens online. We learned what to post/tweet and what not to. We learned through examples that what you post online can and will affect your career in the future. We also learned that you should never plagiarize. Always cite your sources and give credit to whomever the information you obtained belongs to. Whenever someone wants to copy or share someone else's work, make sure they have a creative commons license  Whatever you have done, posted online gets saved and is called your digital footprint.

Since the beginning of this unit, I made sure what I posted was appropriate and nothing that would get me in trouble. I also tweet very carefully and appropriately. If I were to rate myself on scale of 1(terrible online ethics) to a 10(outstanding online ethics), I would give myself a 9 out of 10. Although there may be a few tweets here and there that aren't ethical, I try my hardest to be careful of what I put on the web.

For the final project of this unit, I created an infographic using Piktochart on cyber bullying. I included loads of stats and also the different ways in which cyber bullying occurs. Make sure to comment your thoughts on the infographic.
